Our Mission

To bring the heart of Jesus to the heart of the Auburn campus.

To speak life into students, faculty, staff, and the community.

To define ourselves by what connects us--what we are For.

For God

God is inviting each of us into His love. We honor God by receiving this love and sharing it with each other.

For You

We all need to know that we matter, that we are loved. We need community and encouragement.

For Auburn

Part of loving God and each other is loving our neighbors--those who live and work around us. We love our community and seek to be a voice of love, life, and positivity for our neighbors.

What We Believe

We believe that

  • God is our creator and the lover of our souls.

  • Jesus is the Son of God, our Savior, and the only path to salvation.

  • The Holy Spirit is alive and active in the lives of all believers.

  • God wants you to know him, and experience his love.

  • God’s word is perfect, accurate, and relevant to our daily lives.

  • God still speaks to his people and does miraculous things when they pray.

  • God’s love heals our hearts and souls and restores our joy.

  • The people of God are to love each other and our neighbors just as God loves us.

  • Our mission is to share God’s love and hope with everyone we encounter.

  • We should celebrate the great things that God has done and continues to do in our lives.

  • The church is a community of people who choose to walk the life of faith together, encouraging and challenging each other as needed.

  • God gives each of us gifts, talents, passions, and power for life and ministry that glorify him.

  • Partnering with other like-minded churches and ministries helps us reach our campus and community for Christ.

  • All things from God are good and all things are for his glory.

Church on the Plains is an independent, local church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention; our beliefs align with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000).
